Dr. Irving earned his Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) from James Cook University in Townsville, Australia. Following graduation, he completed a rotating internship at Queensland Veterinary Specialists in Brisbane. He then gained experience in both emergency and general practice before undertaking a specialty internship in ophthalmology at the Animal Referral Hospital in Sydney. He subsequently completed an ophthalmology residency at the Eye Clinic for Animals, also in Sydney, where he continued practicing for several years before joining VCA South Shore (Weymouth) Animal Hospital as part of the Ophthalmology team in 2026.
Dr. Irving is board certified by the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists. He has a special interest in cataract surgery and corneal grafting and reconstruction.
