Dr. Purens finds it an honor to help people and their pets through some of their most difficult moments, and she strives to meet clients where they are to best support their pets. Originally from Chicago, she has lived in Iowa, Michigan, Texas, Minnesota, and New York. Her professional interests include Fear Free Certification, public health, and the intersection of human and animal health.
Outside of work, Dr. Purens enjoys knitting, quilting, and baking. She also loves getting outdoors to hike, canoe, and camp with her three kids. She shares her home with one cat, Flicker, a 6-year-old Abyssinian who keeps her on her toes.
